Permanently retained spaced concrete wall or similar formwork - with form membranes and spacers of non separable fibrous cement

The formwork element, as used in the construction of concrete walls, ceilings, floors, or elsewhere, has a form membrane providing the shape, separated from another membrane on the opposite surface by a spacer unit, especially one made of asbestos cement. Use is made of form membranes (1, 2), of fibrous material cement, which cannot be dismantled from the hard set concrete. They may be made of asbestos cement, pref. in the form of form panels for shuttering large straight surfaces, held apart by spacers (3). Form membranes and spacers may be made from one piece of material; or the spacers may be cemented to the membranes.
