The scraper chain conveyor bar is for use with single or duplex central chains. It has a series of drillings accommodating the shanks of a U-shaped slamp securing it to a horizontal chain link. A boss on the bar engages in this link and the drillings are tapered at the top to take nuts with self-locking cone sections. The nuts (5) have transverse slots in the cone sections. These sections can have tapering counterbores extending for the height of the slots. The angle of taper can be greater at the top than at the bottom.
