Equipment for handling large numbers of small electronic components such as resistors or diodes locates these in correct position using the magnetic attraction between holders contg. fixed permanent magnets and the connecting wires for the components which are copper-covered iron. Used in electroplating units which handle large numbers of components with copper-covered iron connecting wires and which are intended to plate these connecting wires with metals such as nickel or tin to make their subsequent soldering an easy matter. As compared with plating large numbers of components in revolving drums, this method greatly lessens the possibility if damage by bending of the fragile connectors, and it is cheaper in capital and operating costs than the alternative magazine handling appts.
