The General purpose connectors form the largest group comprising a wide range of sizes and powers.nThe trend of manufacturers is to offer a basic range of component parts which may be combined into many, different connectors. This makes it difficult to cover all the varied types. For example a manufacturer offering six different shell sizes and 30 different inserts together with ten varieties of mounting and cable fixing has in in fact 1.800 different options. It is clearly impossible to tabulate all these options. The policy followed has been to select representative types and to indicate the available variants.nIt is hoped that the information provided will enable the designer to select connector types with parameters suitable for his project:for details information on the exact variants needed the manufacturer or his agent must be contacted.
