Frame for double glazing attachment - has plastics sections mitred together and overlapping edges of wood frame

The insertion frame is for use in the renovation of old buildings, where additional double-glazing insulting panes are being added to existing single-glazed wooden windows. It permits retention of the original wing frames. The frame for insertion (1) into the wooden frame (2) comprises four mitre cut profile sections, of thermoplastic synthetic material, welded together. The frame profile is of wider cross-section than the wooden frame. It incorporates one batten (3) for lateral fitting against the wooden frame, and another batten as glass fitting (4). These two battens may face each other, diametrally, and the latter may incorporate an undercut groove (5) for a shaped sealing unit (6).
