Loop former for film in cine projector comprises a toothed drum (20) by which the film is unwound from a spool and, after forming a loop, is conveyed by a gripper mechanism in a film guide (26) past a film gate, behind which it forms another loop. Connected to an actuating key is a guide member (32) on the input side, which has a looped guide surface (34) on its inner surface facing the film path and which is guided rectilinearly inwards against the action of a spring (44). On the output side is a second guide member (52) which is pivotable about a shaft (54) and which has a looped guide surface (58) on its surface facing the film path on one side of the pivot shaft. Attached to the guide member on the input side is an arm (40) which is pivotably connected to the guide member on the output side on the other side of the pivot shaft.
