The central lock system for motor vehicle doors has several actuator unit for locking individual doors. Each drive unit has a reversible electric motor with reduction gear system. The output shaft drives an actuating linkage which can also be operated manually. This ensures that the doors can be locked manually if the automatic system fails. The reduction gear has a screw spindle and a nut which carries a driving lever. This lever is coupled by a spring loaded, double sided overload clutch with a driven lever. This clutch is decoupled at the end positions of the nut travel. The clutch consists of a cam on the driven lever and a roller on the driving lever.
