Pure mode, coherent, radiation generation data transmission system - uses two injection lasers coupled optically but controlled separately

The coherent, fuse mode radiation generation is modulated with a high binary output by means of two injection lasers. These lasers are coupled optically but can be controlled separately. A first injection laser, of high optical efficiency, and high radiation output spectral purity, is constantly swept by a continuous current such that it is excited above a step valve. A second injection laser coupled optically to the first, but whose optical efficiency is lower than the first, is polarised by a continuous current. This second laser is at the same time excited by a modulation current which is superimposed on the continuous current.
