The measuring device has a transmission element which transmits a physical, non-electric quantity from outside the protective case to a receiver inside the case. The receiver converts the physical quantity into an electrical quantity whose consecutive values are stored at least for a time in digital form in an electronic circuit. A supply source is provided for the receiver and the electronic circuit operation. The system may include an analogue-digital converter to assist in producing the data values for storage.
