A centrifuge bowl comprises concentric spaced walls which between them define a solids removal passage accommodating a discharge screw and communicating with the interior of the bowl. The upper region of the bowl interior houses a stack of spaced frustro-conical discs that communicate both with the solids discharge passage and a separate clarified liquid outlet. Used for slurry concn. The solids are not contacted by the liquid during discharge. The discs are spaced so as to allow cleaning without disassembly and solids discharge is uniform.
