Solid bowl centrifuge comprises a rotating drum (1) enclosing a centrifuge chamber (23) having a rotating screw (3), an inlet tube (19) for feeding centrifuge material into the centrifuge chamber, at least one liquid outlet, and at least one solid outlet. The liquid and/or solid outlet is designed as at least one or more openings (27) in a rotating part of the centrifuge, especially openings in the drum wall. At least one of the openings is covered by a housing (29) only partly surrounding the drum. At least one or more seals (31) are arranged between the housing and the drum and/or other rotating elements of the centrifuge (drum heads (18, 41), hubs). Preferred Features: The seals are floating ring seals.
