Roll stand for rolling wire - with slotted clutch plate between roll carrier shafts and gear shafts to avoid transmission of bending stresses

A pair of overhung and replaceable roll collars one on parallel carrier shafts, adjusted radially to each other by an eccentric. Both carrier shafts can be coupled to a further shaft for the drive train and each roll stand is connected to the pinion housing such that the carrier shafts and the other shafts can be coupled at their ends by means of a cross friction clutch. The coupling of the carrier shaft to the opinion shafts does not allow the transmission of bending forces from the rolling process to the drive shafts.
