Toughening curved glass panes for motor car windows - using two wind boxes with interchangeable side blowing heads

Both wind boxes possess an independent central blowing head fitted with air nozzles, and two independent side blowing heads, also fitted with nozzles. The side heads can be adjusted to suit the curved sides of the glass panes. The side heads are pref. replaceable, this being the method used for the cooling of panes with different curvature. Mechanical devices may also be used to alter the angles of the side heads to suit different panes. Auxiliary air nozzles are pref. used between the side heads and the central heads. Separate blowing chambers are pref. used for each central head and each side head and the two central heads are pref. fitted with air nozzles for both complete and partial toughening when required.
