The beehive consists of concrete prefabricated sections comprising a wall (1), a base (7) and sides. The front wall (1) has holes in for the bees to fly through with a roof attachment and a locking piece. The size is selected so that several standard plates can be incorporated in the hive. The wall (1) has a rim (6) which goes round the edges of the plates on the outside (7'). The connecting-pieces have bridge-pieces which hold the plates on the inside. The space inside the beehive is formed by rigid foam (15). Fixtures (21) on the hive are accessible only from the inside and can only be released when open. The roof (14) is fixed on with screw fixtures (21). The hive can incorporate a brood compartment (16) which can take up to 18 frames.
