Yoga couch comprises a supporting board which can be pivoted within a frame about a horizontal shaft (3). A braking drive is mounted for tilting the shaft with variable power input into any oblique or even vertical position with head down, and holding it there. The braking drive may comprise a hand brake with a braking lever (5) which can be operated by the person on the couch, allowing him to adjust infinitely the power input. Pref. the couch is driven by an electric motor with reduction gears, which acts on the pivot shaft via a V-belt. The motorised drive can be operated by the person on the couch by remote operating cables. The controls prevent the user from slipping in case of imperfect balance.
