The cutter is for hedges with conventional hedge clippers where a slide (2a) can move on a tubular frame (1) and on this slide a hedge shear (5) is fixed so that it can be adjusted. Specifically, the slide (2a) has a slide mast (2) on which a boom (3) which carries the hedge shears (5) can be adjusted in height A joint (4) of a second boom (4c) connected with the shears is arranged on the height adjustable boom (3) so that it can move. This second boom (4a) can pivot into a horizontal and vertical position with the aid of the joint (4). Further, the second boom (4a) can be connected with the height adjustable boom (3) by means of a holder (6). The slide (2a) is arranged on ball bearings on the tubular frame.
