The solar energy collector has flexible walls which are supported and stiffened by the fluid or gaseous heating medium flowing through them. The collector thus achieves its final shape. The outer walls are made of sleeve film welded or glued so as to produce stabilising diverter stays (1) arranged lengthways leaving an entry (2) and an outlet (3) free. The film should be a good heat conductor with the side facing the sun being blackened. It is possible to enclose the collector in transparent film which is permeable to the rays but at the same time has heat insulating properties.
