Toe grip for ski safety harness - has toe grip arms on lateral moving slides held by spring loaded piston

Ski safety harness has a toe holder (34) mounted on the ski (12) which has two lateral moving slides (13) fitted. On the outer ends of each slide (13) is a sole holder arm (16). The sole holders (16) can be either fixed sloping arms which grip the shoe sole, or an angled arm fitted on a vertical pivot (15). On the inner end of each slide (13) is a catch cam (1a). These cams fit into a catch depression in a spring loaded piston (18). This enables the sole holder arms, in the event of a frontal collision, the sole holder and slide (13) is forced outwards against the force of the spring loaded piston (18) sufficiently to allow the shoe to slide forward until it is released. This lessens the danger of the skier tumbling forwards through being held back by the toe grip after release of the heel grip.
