Railway crane attitudes and loads monitor - displays to operator when impermissible state exists using data processor

A network is used for monitoring the loading and positioning of a railway operational crane so that any impermissible state is displayed to the operator. Similar equipment can be used for railway snow ploughs, tunnel measurement trucks, and transport vehicles. A railway crane is mounted on a flat truck (1) which is carried in turn by two bogies (2). The crane consists of a base unit (3) and two arms (5, 7) which carry a load to a desired position by altering their angular positions with respect to each other and ground. Two angular transducers (4, 6) are situated at the articulated points of this arrangement and produce measurements of the arm angular positions (8, 9).
