Cold start system for IC engine - has auxiliary jet to spray fuel directly into carburettor induction

Cold start jet (13) is carried by the air filter upper section and extends into the induction pipe (15) leading to the conventional carburettor (10). Fuel is fed to the cold start jet by a 'T' piece (17) from the lift pump (16) to float chamber feed pipe (12). Branch pipe (14) from the 'T' piece to the starter jet has a check valve (18), which is pref. a magnetic valve actuated by a time relay switch (20). For start purposes the magnetic valve is opened to allow fuel to be sprayed directly into the induction pipe. The relay switch is automatically tripped by a normminal current flow from the alternator 15 seconds after the engine has started to run. The engine then works from the conventional carburettor. The cold start jet (13) is exchangeable for calibration.
