The double-sealed, flat-bottomed bag has a seam joining together the sidewalls which are folded inwards (16, 18) towards each other to form the bottom. These folded portions automatically form flaps (40), one above the other, with the closed bottom when the bag is pressed flat. The overlapping flaps are secured to each other and to the bottom and sealed by further seams (44) after they have been pressed flat. These seams can be arranged to secure them together in a direction across the flaps. There can alternatively be folds in the flaps adjacent to the sealed bottom. These folds are sealed to the bottom.
