The introducer comprises a tubular housing in which a sliding rod provides the ejecting movement and is operated by a knurled wheel projecting through an aperture in the side of the housing and operated by a finger of the same hand that holds the tubular housing. This knurled wheel is mounted upon a bearing constituted of two lugs projecting from opposite sides of the slit or aperture in the housing into a central hole of the wheel. The rack slides on the internal face of the housing opposite to the slit and wheel. Pref. the ends of the lugs are slightly spaced apart from one another and are flexible, they mesh with one another. The pref. have rounded corners to provide a circular bearing. The device can be used as either a throw-away instrument or for repeated use.
