The thermostatically controlled regulating valve has a preadjustment of the max. through-flow quantity, and an adjustable throttle cap which encompasses the valve plate concentrically, it can be adjusted against a housing projecting from the valve plate seat surface. The outer surface of the housing acts as guide for the cap. The guide surfaces for the housing anc cap are cylindrical, and the cap is adjustable axially against the housing by fine threads. Between the cap and the housing is an acute angled effective surface, which is that of a wedge shaped piece.
