Plastics insulated cable for medium and HV application - has conducting inner layer between insulation and extruded layer and metallic reinforced outer sheath

The cable has plastic insulation, and is suitable for medium and high voltage application. There is an outer conducting layer which borders on the insulation. The conducting regions comprise a central wire (1), a conducting layer (2) and an outer conducting extruded layer (6). The conducting inner layer (2) acts as a separator between the insulation (3) and the extruded conductive layer (6). It forms a rigid nonporous and adhesive sheath. The inner layer is made from a conductive lacquer. This lacquer is sprayed on to the insulation while it is hot. The cable has metallic reinforcement strips (7) surrounded by a PVC outer coating (8).
