Road vehicle moving map display - uses interchangeable microphotograph maps in holder moving w.r.t. projector for dashboard screen

A device for rapid and comprehensive provision of data regarding actual position and destination to road vehicle drivers uses a display system for microphotographs or transparent positives. A projection device displays a large general road map and/or a part section on a screen in the driver's field of view. The microphotographs are interchangeable and their holder is movable in two-dimensions and or rotatable. This movement is automatically controlled by the motion of the vehicle to provide a moving map display. The device eliminates much search work and provides more convenient map storage than conventional maps. The system may be fixed in a vehicle dashboard and driven from the existing electrical supply.
