The machine aligns and stacks pieces of cut-out fabric used to make shirt collars, arriving in an unaligned stream. A feed mechanism (204) delivers each piece (202) in a first direction (X) against a first alignment surface (206), and feed rollers produce travel in a second direction (Y) so as to bring the piece against a second alignment surface (208). A transfer mechanism (212) has a head working between the aligned position (B) and a stacking table (214), gripping the aligned piece and transporting it to the latter. The alignment mechanism can have a steeply inclined supporting feed surface for the pieces, so that they slide against the first alignment stop.
