The chest type deep freezer has freezing unit which can be removed for repair and maintenance. The freezer chest has also drawers for material to be frozen. The deep freezer chest has an inserted detachable frame for holding the motor (9) and compressor (10) assembly and all elements of the refrigerant circuit. The refrigerator unit is completely independent of the chest and can be removed as a unit. This frame arrangement is designed as a sliding drawer in the chest wall. The frame is connected to the lagged wall of the chest and the refrigerator unit is held in a sliding support in the frame. A vessel is provided for collecting condensed water.
