Heat insulation method for inaccessible roof space - by unrolling and inflating bag filled with granular particles

Process is for insulating cavities in a building, which are accessible only with difficulty, for the reduction of heat loss; such spaces may be elongated, like the space below a flat roof covering. A bag is inserted, and filled with granular insulating material which is blown in. Before insertion, the bag, made of paper, plastic foil or other material, is folded lengthways and rolled up as a cylindrical unit. It is unrolled in the space by introduction of compressed air at the open end, following which an insulating medium (8) is blown in. the bag may be partitioned into lengthways channels (9), with the divisions establishing the max. Space between top and bottom sides; and unrolled by inflating part of the channels.
