The under ceiling, esp. as fitted in rooms used for industrial purposes, has ceiling elements mounted on carriers and arched upwards, with rising vapours sucked away through intervening gaps, while substances from the vapours condense on the elements and collect in U-sectioned profiled units round their edges. The suction gaps (7, 8) are bordered by the horizontally aligned carriers (1), ceiling elements (2) peripheral areas and collecting units (3) below the carriers. The carriers and pref. collecting units incorporate border surfaces which serve as additional condensation surfaces (11, 10). These can have uneven areas generating increased turbulence in the outlet flow (A).
