Antistatic transmission belt - with electrically conducting elastomer layers contg. reinforcements and touching tapered sides of conducting pulleys

An endless transmission belt with anti-static properties has tension and compression zones and an intermediate load-bearing zone. At least one of these zones and/or an additional zone is made of electrically conducting elastomer and extends continuously over the whole length and width of the belt, the outer edges of this zone face the pulleys surfaces. The conducting layers are pref. made up of 100 pts. rubber, 20-45 pts. carbon, and 15-25 pts. SiO2 plus smaller quantities of additives including e.g. phenolic resin. Its anti-static properties enable it to be used in e.g. explosive dusts and other dangerous environments.
