摘要
1401405 Making composite wire; rolling TEXAS INSTRUMENTS Inc 19 July 1973 [14 Aug 1972] 34484/73 Headings B3A and B3M A copper clad aluminium wire is made by rolling a pair of copper wires 10a into strips 10, Fig. 1, and metallurgically bonding, e.g. by rolling, the strips to a core 16 of aluminium so that at least the cladding is free from welds in each of the strips in the longitudinal direction. The wire has a diameter of at least 0À25 inches, preferably 0À75 inches, and a length of at least 5000 feet, preferably 20,000 feet. The copper cladding forms less than twenty per cent of the wire volume. The core is preferably one piece but can be composed of discrete aluminium lengths (16a), (16b), (16c), (16d), Fig. 3 (not shown), welded together.
