Title compsns. contain cpds. of formula: (where R = H or 8-18C alkyl, =1 R being alkyl) are prepd. by reaction of tripropylenetetramine at 100-160 degrees C in the presence of an acid acceptor with an alkylhalide or mixture of alkyl halides, in molar ratio of 2:1 to 1:4 opt. in the presence of a solvent. The pptd. salt is removed and the prod. opt. fractionally distilled to give the individual cpds.
