The anode space is the interior of the inner tube, and has a liquid Na distributor along its inner wall. The interspace between the 2 tubes forms the cathode space. Pref. the distributor is a filling of metal wool, and also a metal sheet with its surface so close along the inner tube's inner surface that the Na is distributed by capillary action.
