A multispindle chucking automatic raises the productive capacity of the machine in relation to the invested capital and to the required floor space considerably carrying out several similar operations on several workpieces (steel bars). Parallel headstocks only two of which are shown, clamp the bars, which are fed forward through a loading drum by pushers. The headstocks are shifted longitudinally by a stepper motor. A common belt revolves them both relative to the tools in the tool holders. Three stepper motors move the tools (six for each spindle) in pairs.
