Builders lift with cage on mast - has means for access from building to cage and mast interior

The lift works on a mast secured at intervals by anchoring devices to the building, and is equipped for operation by the occupant. Means are included for access from the building to the mast, including openings allowing a man to climb through from a ladder inside the mast to them and into the cage, whatever its height, and back again, should the cage jam at any point, and cn be placed on the anchoring devices. The cage can be driven by a pinion, meshing with a rack offset from the mast centre towards one edge of it. Where the mast is of lattice construction the openings can be formed by diagonal struts arranged in a rhombus pattern.
