Building panel for interior or exterior partitions etc., has a core made from 60-95 (70-80)% expanded perlite and 5-40% short fibres (12.5 mm) of paper, vegetable fibre (straw, bagasse), glass wool or fibre, asbestos or mineral fibre, mixed with up to 35 (30)% adhesive as binder. The components are mixed with water to form a suspension contg. 2-10% solids, form which a sheet is formed of suitable thickness using the Fourdrinier process or the "Oliver Rotary Drum", and then drying the sheet.
