Car tyre having temporary improved adhesion contains magnetic matl. in the region of the tread, and bears on top of the tread adhesion-promoting matl. which is attracted and retained by the magnetic matl. The adhesion-promoting matl. pref. comprises elongate particles which extend in the radial direction due to the action of the magnetic field, or conical particles of which the apices contact the road surface due to the action of the magnetic field. The magnetic matl. is pref. in the form of elongate radially extending magnets disposed in housing which are applied to the tread.
