Hydroxamic acid derivs. of F prostaglandins are of formula (I): (where R and R1=H, methyl or ethyl; Y is -(CH2)3-, -CH2CH2-C(R4)(OH)- R4=H, vinyl or cyclopropyl; Z=one of the following -CH2CH2-, -CH=CH-(cis or trans), R2 and R3 =H, Cl, or F; and indicates alpha- or beta-positions). (I) are anti-lipolytics, gonadotropics, uterine contraction inducers, luteolytics, suprarenal activators hypotensives, bronchoconstrictors and vasodilators.
