The decorative button has a circular base (1) with spikes which penetrate into the garment and hold it in place. An annular part fits into this base and is enclosed by a ring. Arms (11) are mounted on axles (12) in holes in the fixed base and in holes in another ring. Projections (5) on the annular part engage in grooves in ramps inside the first ring so that when this ring is turned the arms (11) pivot and either hold the decorative button on a normal garment button or release it. A decorative stone is held in place in the annular part by claws.
