Manometer display transmission linkage - avoids problems associated with mechanical linkages by incorporating magnetic coupling in chain

The linkage consists of a triangle shaped element, of which the base is made of magnetic material (6) and the other sides of non-magnetic material, which moves in the plane of the triangle around a point near the apex, according to the manometer reading. The triangle base forms part of a magnetic circuit which also includes a solid cylinder (7) of magnetic material, the axis of which is along an attached shaft (8) to which a pointer or other indicator is attached. The magnetic circuit is completed by a permanent magnet (9) beneath the arrangement. When the triangle moves, the cylinder is driven round to give the required reading.
