A plant pot (1) has parallel straight vertical sides perpendicular to the flat bottom (2). These sides have regularly spaced vertical flutes (11, 12, 13). All the flutes are similar and are formed by two adjacent sides (110, 111, 120, 121) at equal angles, each angle being an acute angle. The radial bisectors through the summits (S) of all the angles meet at the centre of the pot. The bottom of the pot, on the inside, has a recessed surface (21, 22, 23) with ribs. These are also radial, meeting the base of each flute. Plants follow the vertical direction of the flutes with their roots, these being prevented from forming balls.
