A windscreen or window mounted antennae for motor vehicles gives a signal level great enough to allow high fidelity with a low noise level. The antennae itself uses a printed conducting tape extending along the perimeter of the glass surface spaced a short distance from the metal surround. The conductor is folded and includes a short vertical element at the antennae centre the dimensions being chosen to provide reception over the 20kHz to 100kHz band. The antennae itself is terminated in a printed impedance and a connector. This feeds a wide band preamplifier supplied by 12 volts by a conductor running in parallel with the outer screen of the coaxial cable connecting it to the receiver itself.
