The phosphorescent material of pyrochlore crystal structure has the general formula R+2R+3R+4R+5R7-2 in which R+2 is =1 divalent cation, R+3 =1 trivalent cation, R+4 =1 tetravalent anion, and in which =1 of the cations R+2R+3R+4R+5 can be replaced by =1 activator cations R+2R+3R+4R+5 can be replaced by =1 activator cation of the same valency. Pref. R7-2 is a divalent in on radical consisting of the gp. OaSb-2 or OcF-2d, in which b is 7 - a, and d is 14-2C. the phosphorescent material has pref. the general formula R+2R+3R+4R+5O7, and R+2 is an alkaline earth metal cation of the gp. Ca+2, Sr+2, Mg+2, and Ba+2, and R+3 is an ion of rare earth metals of the gp. Y+3, La+3, Ga+3 and Lu+3, R+4 is chosen from the gp. Si+4, Ge+4, Sn+4, Ti+4, Zr+4 and Hf+4, and R+5 from V+5, Nb+5 and T+5.
