摘要
The driven probe or penetrometer, is designed to measure the in situ bearing capacity of sandy foundation sub-soil, mainly highway formations, and gives a direct reading of the California bearing ratio when pentration per blow and total penetration are less than 40 mm and 1.2 m respectively, and embodies a probe driven by a mass dropping a fixed distance under gravity. A four legged square base plate (1) is apertured (4) to permit the passage of a vertical rod (5), this latter having a conically pointed (pref 60 deg.) tip (6) and joining a co-axial extension rod (7): the extension bearing a basal collar anvil (8), an upper elastic stop (9) and forming the central guide for a cylindrical sliding mass (10). A calibrated telescopic scale (13, 13) aligns vertically adjacent to the rod (5, 7) and pref the rod divides into smaller componential lengths. If mass=M, drop = h, and probe section = A, then MR/A is between 95 and 105 Kg/cm.
