The vehicle cab has an inner chamber which can accept a wheelchair. The wheelchair can be so pushed in the car base that a person sitting in the chair has access to the vehicle control devices. A lifting device allows the vehicle wheels to be drawn into the inside of the cab with the aid of control levers. The car base can be lowered right down to road height to permit access for the chair. The lifting device is a which is fixed to the cab, connected with a support linkage and mounted on the wheel by a cross-rod. This rod can turn about its outer points on the support linkage.
