The metering device is used for the selective distribution of quantities of liquid from a tank. Generally the outlet in the base of the tank is fitted with a valve seat and may be closed by a valve plate forming part of a valve chamber. The valve chamber (6), has a stop (13). When the outlet (4) is opened so that the liquid level in the tank corresponds with quantity of liquid selected, the edge (17) of a lever (15, 4) penetrated into the stop. This lever is inside the reservoir and carries a float (21).
