A device for exciting gas discharge lasers with non-stationary inversion and transverse unloading configuration is based on band conducting principles. The band conductors constituting the storage and forming conductors of the electrical exciter circuit, have a circular arc chamber which does not detract from their stability under tension. The conductors are assembled in a pack in such a way that the gaps form a concentric opening in which the high tension switch is connected geometrically coaxially to the tension conductors. Overcomes the difficiencies of expensive coaxial cables with their liability to breakdown, the parasitic inductivity of condensers increasing the impedance of forming conductors, and band conductors tending to increase the inductivity of the total circuit, and extend the loading time of the forming conductor.
