Caravan towing bar with brake linkage - has casing with bearings holding tow shaft and damper and locking hand brake

The caravan towing linkage has a body (1) with a base plate (2) fixed to the chassis of the caravan. Two bearings (3) inside the body guide a tube (8). The front end of the tube receives an attachment head (4) forming the connection between towing vehicle and caravan. The back of the tube acts on a lever (5) hinged about an axis (7). The lower end of the lever connects to the caravan brake linkage (9). A double acting damper (10) is mounted down the centre of the shaft and the upper end of the lever is cranked to form a handle for a hand brake locking on a notched disc.
