The box wagon has fixed side and end walls (3, 4) and a fixed floor and roof (1, 2). Movable sections of one wall (6, 7) hinge about horizontal axes (8, 9) at the top and bottom of the lorry. The bottom flap is supported by a folding leg (14) hinged to the outside and the top flap is raised and supported by a hydraulic ram (13). Panels (11) mounted parallel to the fixed ends slide outwards along guide rails (12) and extend the end walls. A hinging plate (16) is connected to the edge of the roof panel to enable two lorries to be placed side by side to form a large enclosed volume.
