Combined filter and cyclone for gases - to remove particles and droplets with filter element on cyclone dip-pipe

Device for sepg. liquids and solids from a gas stream has a filter element mounted on the dip pipe position of a cyclone, thus containing the action of cyclone and filter. For various applications conical or cylindrical elements can be used. In the filter material, spiral shaped passages leading inwards are formed. Directly mounted onto the cyclone base there is a common sump to collect disentrained droplets and particles, which does not have a separating element but has a cover over it. The device is of use with gas streams containing droplets and particles below 10 mu size. System described gives a much longer on stream life between filter cleaning.
